| About Mabuhay Golf Club Mabuhay Golf Club was organized in 1967 aboard the Philippine vessel M/V Rizal, which was berthed at Pier 37 in San Francisco. The organizers who decided to form the Mabuhay Golf club were Alex Agcaoili, Ramon Barretto, Jess Esteva, Jimmy Jacinto, Joe Jacinto, Charlie Hagedorn, Ramon Halili, Joseph Libunao, Wally Meneses, Adolfo Roensch, Alfred Siason and Gerry Sy. The Club's first adviser and golf coach was Larry Montes, the 13-time winner of the Philippine Open, who at that time was a teaching pro at Harding Golf Course in San Francisco. The general purpose of the Club is the promotion of a cordial camaraderie among the members to assure full enjoyment in playing golf. The Club shall promote the sport of golf and undertake other activities to assure the advancement of its purpose. Today, Mabuhay Golf Club is comprised of approximately 100 members who participate in monthly tournaments held at a variety of golf courses in the San Francisco Bay Area. Membership is open to all golfers interested in building friendship and camaraderie with other golfers.
